The optional 10/100/1GigE matrix interface can be installed in any slot numbered from 1 through 24 inclusive in the 26-slot chassis, and from 1 through 5 in the 6 slot-chassis, following the grouping outlines in the user manual for best usage. 10/100/1GigE matrix card is an 4 port RJ-45C port which is based on relay switching matrix technology. Commands to setup or tear down connections are received from a CPU control card via LVDS backplane bus.
Power over Ethernet
Provides PoE RJ45 input that allows easy connectivity to Ethernet powered devices, including IP phones and wireless access points. PoE interface complies with international standard IEEE 802.3af, 802.1d, 802.1s, 802.1x
Physical Connection
GigE Interface physical is RJ45C, 4-port interface, capable of switching Fast Ethernet or Gigabit at full wire speed. The GigE interface does not require a fan to cool off the card and has energy smart technology along with very low power consumption. This interface plugs into an ET-2600 passive Switch. The technology is designed with a relay connection to make a truly physical layer 1-switch connection, for high integrity of the signal being tested.
