10/100 Ethernet Interface

Features

The optional 10/100 Ethernet matrix interface can be installed in any slot numbered from 1 through 24 inclusive in the 26-slot chassis, and from 1 through 5 in the 6 slot-chassis, following the grouping outlines in the user manual for best usage.

The 10/100 matrix card is an 8 port RJ-48C port which is based on relay switching  matrix technology. Commands to setup or tear down connections are receive from a CPU control card via LVDS backplane bus.

ET-2600 Physical Layer Switch

Overview & Features

Product Data Sheet – Description Of The Switch

The ET-2600 Physical Layer Switch System from ETA Comm Technologies is a rack-mounted cross point switch, that uses relay technology to route signals between ports. This passive switch technology is designated for application such as laboratory and production line testing where users need a switch that will not change the signal being routed between test gear and DUT.

Each switch is equipped with a controller that manages routing through the switch matrix. This controller has a built-in web server and offers a remote procedure call interface. User can interact with the switch using either a web browser or through one of several small client libraries. Library can support C/C++, TLC and other scripting; languages are currently available for Linux (2.4/ 2.6) and Windows (2000/XP). Switches also offer a secure login console that is useful for maintance in case there are problems accessing the unit over the network.

ET-2600 switches may be grouped in sets of up to four units with the group acting as a single switch. User can interact with multiple switches using an optional multi-switch library. The choices are designed to give the most flexibility to the design of a user installation.

The ET-2600 is designated to be accessed by multiple users and will mediate between these users using a lightweight access control mechanisms that is designated user friendly. Although an individual user’s resources will be monitored for activity and may be returned to the pool if that user is inactive for an extended period, there is also a safeguard “back door” that allows specified users to control the entire switch so that unused resources can be freed.

CPU Interface

Features

The CPU Controller is based on a single board technology (SBC) running an embedded version of Linux software. User interact with the CTL board over a network connection using one of the three mechanisms.

1. SSH based login shell, scp and other standard    Linux programs.
2. Remote Procedure call (RPC-ONC) based application.
3. An embedded web browser

The CPU Interface can run a variety of applications to support whatever configuration a user would find most convenient.

We have three sample applications:
1. A command line interface program based on a “C” support library
2. A TCL support library
3. A web browser

CPU interface is always installed in the “CPU” slot chassis, located on the upper right last slot.

T1/E1 Interface

Features

The optional T1/E1 matrix interface can be installed in any slot numbered from 1 through 24 inclusive in the 26-slot chassis, and from 1 through 5 in the 6 slot-chassis, following the grouping outlines in the user manual for best usage.

The T1/E1 matrix card is an 8 port RJ-48C port which is based on relay switching  matrix technology. Commands to setup or tear down connections are received from a CPU control card via LVDS backplane bus.

POTS/xDSL Interface

Features

The optional POTS/xDSL matrix interface can be installed in any slot numbered from 1 through 24 inclusive in the 26-slot chassis, and from 1 through 5 in the 6 slot-chassis, following the grouping outlines in the user manual for best usage.

The POTS/xDSL matrix card is an 8 ports RJ-48C, port which is based on relay switching  matrix technology, commands to setup or tear down connections are receive from a CPU control card via LVDS backplane bus.

10/100/GigE Interface (PoE)

Features

The optional 10/100/1GigE matrix interface can be installed in any slot numbered from 1 through 24 inclusive in the 26-slot chassis, and from 1 through 5 in the 6 slot-chassis, following the grouping outlines in the user manual for best usage. 10/100/1GigE matrix card is an 4 port RJ-45C port which is based on relay switching matrix technology. Commands to setup or tear down connections are received from a CPU control card via LVDS backplane bus.

Power over Ethernet

Provides PoE RJ45 input that allows easy connectivity to Ethernet powered devices, including IP phones and wireless access points. PoE interface complies with international standard IEEE 802.3af, 802.1d, 802.1s, 802.1x

Physical Connection

GigE Interface physical is RJ45C, 4-port interface, capable of switching Fast Ethernet or Gigabit at full wire speed. The GigE interface does not require a fan to cool off the card and has energy smart technology along with very low power consumption. This interface plugs into an ET-2600 passive Switch. The technology is designed with a relay connection to make a truly physical layer 1-switch connection, for high integrity of the signal being tested.

Built In Software Control Panel

Features

The software application is easy to use as 123. users can remotely access the control panel through the internet or intranet. The software is built in with multi-user capabilities. The unit is ready to use right out of the box, all applications are already loaded in the CPU.
